Emmilie Aveling

Emmilie Aveling is a Research Scientist in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard T H Chan School of Public Health. Her research investigates how cross-sector, organizational and community-based collaboration can promote health equity and deliver high quality health services. She uses qualitative research methods to study diverse clinical, organizational and community settings in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, Rwanda, and Ethiopia. For the past 5 years, she has been part of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) funded Culture of Health joint initiative between the Harvard Chan School and Harvard Business School. Her research for this project focuses on the role and potential of business to support the health, wealth and wellbeing of their local Boston communities. Before entering academia, Emmilie spent several years working internationally in public and nonprofit sector health and social care organizations and on social justice campaigns. She received her PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Cambridge.
